Large scale physical environment parameters such as climate or the
description of ice coverage are of importance to research concerned
with an area over long time periods.
Weather as recorded by human observers and ice derived from passive
microwave satellite data are presented as daily and monthly values.
Weather data on the West Antarctic Peninsula includes observations from:
Palmer Station
Faraday Station (British Antarctiic Survey)
Rothera Station (British Antarctic Survey)
Bellinghausen (sea ice)
Sea ice coverage for the LTER region and the Southern Ocean was derived
from passive microwave satellites.
