I am preparing an injectable skull implant with a biomaterial designed for minimally invasive cranial reconstruction and repair. This implant is prepared by polymerized high internal phase emulsion (PolyHIPE) templating procedure followed by UV photopolymerisation of monomer emulsion. Inclusion of channels are achieved through indirect 3D printing technology to help osteogenesis and vascularisation. The implant can be injected into the defect site, where they integrate with the surrounding tissue. Their use offers significant advantages in reducing surgical trauma and enhancing recovery times.
