Six persons: three children sitting, a woman sitting, one old man sitting (apparently Willy Mazwi), one young man standing. The men are wearing suits and holding hats in their right hands. The old man is also holding a stick in his left hand. The woman is wearing a dark cap, a jacket and a dark skirt or dress. Two children are wearing light coloured tops and caps. One of these two and the third child have folded their arms. In the background some kind of hut and plants.; William S. Mazwi, born in 1861 in Gosen (South Africa), was an indigenous brother of the Moravian Church. He worked as a teacher in Gosen from 1882 till 1898, as a national assistant in Elukolweni in 1900 and as a mission assistant in Mvenyane (1900), Nxotshane / Griqualand (1904-1931) and Silo (1933). He retired in 1935.--Paul Albert Theile, born in 1908 in Niesky (Germany), was a theologian and preacher. He was no missionary in Africa, but went on an educational journey to East Africa in 1933 and to South Africa in 1934. He was a mission deputy in Montmirail (France) from 1934 till 1938. In 1948 he married Susette Schmidt. After 1962 he was director of the Moravian Church in Switzerland. He died in 1995 in Birsfelden (near Basel / Switzerland).
