Escherichia Genome sequencing and assembly

This study examined the survival of Escherichia coli in beach sand. The goal of the study was to identify genomic traits associated with long term survival of E. coli in the beach environment. Select isolates from fecal pollution sources and from beach sand were sequenced and used as scaffold for mapping metagenomic reads from larger E. coli isolate collections recovered from microcosms. This BioProject includes the WGS data for select isolates.
