资源简介:
Hawaiian Drosophilidae diversity is illustrated in the morphological variation of the male foreleg. This feature is unknown in other Diptera families. One of the four subgroups of the modified tarsus flies is the "bristle-foot" or "bristle-tarsus group". This group is characterized by one to two rows of thickened setae, or bristles, on the basitarsus. These modifications are thought to be the result of sexual selection and are used for courtship purposes. Please contribute and help transcribe UHIM's bristle-foot specimens in order to better our understanding of their distribution here in Hawai'i.This expedition of 609 tasks is fully transcribed and validated.
