This project provides the draft genome sequence of a novel species closely related to the animal and human pathogen Rhodococcus (Prescottella) equi, Rhodococcus paraequi PAM2766 isolated from equine farm soil. The WGS of the type species of Rhodococcus (Prescottella) soli, DSM46662T, which we determined as part of the phylogenomic analyses for the description of the novel species, R. paraequi, is also included.
