1. Dataset Overview
This dataset contains 17 optical spectrum measurements recorded at different temperature points using an Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA) (Anritsu MS9710B).
Each measurement consists of:
- One spectrum file (DATAxxx.TXT), containing wavelength–power pairs exported directly from the OSA.
- One screenshot (DATAxxx.BMP), containing the on-screen trace view.
- One metadata file (metadata.csv), specifying the temperature values and the extracted peak wavelengths for each measurement.
- The dataset is intended for reproducible research in fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing, spectral peak detection, signal processing, and temperature-dependent optical behavior.
2. OSA TXT File Format
Each DATAxxx.TXT file contains:
a) Header section (Includes OSA settings required for reproducibility):
- Center wavelength (nm)
- Span (nm)
- Start/Stop wavelength (nm)
- Resolution bandwidth (RBW)
- Video bandwidth (VBW)
- Smoothing level
- Number of sampling points
- Attenuation state
-Active trace and memory configuration
-Data section
b)Three numeric columns:
- Wavelength (nm) Wavelength values sampled by the OSA.
- Power (W) Optical power measured at each wavelength (in Watts).
- Trace2 (W) Secondary OSA trace channel. Unused in this experiment; values appear as 1×10−12 due to instrument limits.
3. Metadata File Description (metadata.csv)
The dataset includes a CSV file describing peak wavelengths and temperature values for each measurement.

Column Meaning
File Measurement index (121–137).
Peak1 First spectral peak wavelength (nm).
Peak2 Second spectral peak wavelength (nm).
Temp1 Temperature corresponding to Peak 1 (°C).
Temp2 Temperature corresponding to Peak 2 (°C).
Measurement Measurement ID (1 → 17).
