Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System II (NABOS II) – Seawater macronutrient observations in the eastern Eurasian and Makarov Basins, Arctic Ocean, 2021

The cruise was conducted from September 10 – October 13, 2021 aboard the Research Vessel Akademik Tryoshnikov as a part of the Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System II (NABOS-II) project. A total of 102 stations were occupied during the cruise; profiles were made at roughly alternating stations (n = 80) and surface samples were collected for all stations. Macronutrient measurements include nitrate, nitrite, nitrate+nitrite (as “nitrogen”), phosphate, and silicate. The main goal of NABOS was to enhance our understanding of the role of stratification in controlling transports of the Atlantic Water heat and other properties to the upper ocean and ice.
