In order to verify results of the host transfer experiments, genetic approach was performed. The five A. gossypii populations (AgCITR, AgHIBI, AgCOUR, AgPOMM and AgPOIV) sampled from citrus, hibiscus, zucchini, potato and pepper respectively, were analyzed by the amplification of the Mitochondrial Cytochrome Oxidase I (mtCOI) partial gene fragment. The green citrus aphid A. spiraecola collected from citrus, zucchini, potato and pepper, characterized by (AsCITR, AsCOUR, AsPOMM and AsPOIV) was added to the study as second most important vector of CTV in Chlef valley and the giant black bark aphid Pterochloroides persicae (Ps) (Hemipetra: Lachninae) sampled from peach trees, were also examined as out of groups for interspecific comparison between species and families respectively.
