The complete mitogenome of Lyreidus stenops Wood-Mason, 1887 (Decapoda: Raninidae) from the East China Sea

The frog crab Lyreidus stenops Wood-Mason, 1887 is primarily distributed in the East China Sea, South China Sea, and waters surrounding Japan and Korea. Its mitogenome (GenBank: PV437595) is 15,461 bp in length and comprises 13 PCGs, 2 rRNAs, 22 tRNAs, and one non-coding control region. Nucleotide composition analysis showed a high AT content (70.4%). Phylogenetic analysis grouped L. stenops with Lyreidus tridentatus and Lyreidus brevifrons in a monophyletic clade, with the latter two species exhibiting close evolutionary relationships. This mitogenome sequence enriches the genomic dataset for the species of Lyreidus and will aid in resolving evolutionary dynamics within Raninidae.
