SSUSI Aurora Images (NWTS and WTS) & Space Physical Parameters Dataset (2K data)

The SSUSI aboard the DMSP satellite can obtain the ultraviolet auroral intensity distribution in the northern hemisphere. We used a total of 1969 LBHL (~170 nm) SSUSI images from December 2005 to 2017, which have 937 None Westward Travelling Surge(NWTS) images and 1032 Westward Travelling Surge(WTS) images. Each image has a pixel size of 600×450, and the value of each pixel is converted to the value with auroral intensity, the unit is kR. We utilized corresponding Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF), solar wind parameters, and geomagnetic index data from the NASA OMNI database to build a dataset which consist of the space physical parameters and SSUSI auroral oval images.

These SSUSI data is saved as the jpg files and the OMNI data is saved as txt files.
