资源简介:
This data was used to investigate the challenges that Alaska Native Communities face when transitioning to renewable energy to reduce energy burden. The data included 21 in-depth interviews with participants of state, federal, academic, and non-profit backgrounds with significant experience on energy projects in rural Alaska. Data collection occurred between March 2023 and November 2023. Based on the Just Transition Theory as a framework to interpret the interviews, major challenges to energy transition projects go beyond the burden of costs and financing and are also impacted by the extent of availability of modern transportation infrastructure including the network of roads, highways, bridges, and other transportation systems, the level of external and local stakeholder interactions, and the trust level of Alaska Native Villages in renewable energy.
