Replication data for: Internal Migration, Education, and Intergenerational Mobility: Evidence from American History

This folder contains replication files for "Internal Migration, Education, and Intergenerational Mobility: Evidence from American History." The paper uses United States Census data between 1910 and 1940 to estimate the association between intercounty migration and intergenerational mobility. The project finds that intercounty migration was associated with a large gain in economic status, which helped break the link between the father's and son's status. The premium to migration is estimated by comparing brothers who migrated across county lines to brothers who remained in the source county.
