Comparative analysis of gut and ovary microbiota in Dactylopius opuntiae from distinct Moroccan regions

This project investigates the microbial communities associated with the cochineal insect (Dactylopius opuntiae), an important pest of cactus crops in Morocco. Using molecular and microscopic approaches, the study characterizes the diversity and composition of microbial taxa across different insect tissues and developmental stages. The results provide insights into insect microbe interactions and their potential role in host biology, ecology, and pest management strategies.
