The observational data supporting this study come from the NOAA/AOML Hurricane Research Division dropsonde archive (https://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/data_sub/dropsonde.html), spanning 2001 through 2022. After quality control — removal of profiles with missing or physically implausible wind measurements, a Hampel-type outlier filter, and a requirement of at least three valid points in each 100-meter layer — we retained 7,524 profiles from 93 distinct tropical cyclones.
