WORDS ADOPTED INTO FRENCH FROM EASTERN LANGUAGES

This article analyzes the features of lexical development in the French language through borrowings from Eastern languages, as well as their role within the language system. In particular, it examines the mechanisms of borrowing from Arabic, Persian, Turkic, and other Eastern languages, along with their phonetic, grammatical, and semantic adaptation. Lexical units of Eastern origin found in French are studied through examples, with explanations of the historical processes of their incorporation. The article also provides a comparative analysis of the degree to which borrowed words retain or change their form and meaning, as well as their integration into the French lexical system. The study aims to highlight the role and significance of Eastern languages in enriching the vocabulary of French from both historical and linguistic perspectives.
