Accurate long-term estimates of air temperature and precipitation with high spatiotemporal resolution are critical for various climatological research studies. We developed a new, publicly available daily gridded dataset of maximum air temperature, minimum air temperature, and precipitation over China, with a spatial resolution of up to 1 kilometer, covering a long-term period from 1961 to 2019. This dataset is named HRLT and is based on the 0.5° data from the China Meteorological Administration.
