This paper summarized the image dataset of Triassic-Jurassic clastic rocks in Mid-Yangtze. Our sample mainly demonstrates medium to coarse sandstone. We systematically identified and partially counted detrital components of 86 samples. Eight different types of sandstone including litho-quartzose, quartzo-lithic, feldspatho-quartzose and etc. were recognized after detrital modal analysis and 287 microscopic images of them were taken. We placed much emphasis on deciphering metamorphic grains and further classified their metamorphism rank as well as their prototypes. The establishment of this dataset enriched the skeleton research of Mesozoic sedimentary evolution in Mid-Yangtze. Generally, this dataset is a case of understanding the incorporation of metamorphic grains. It could also be reference to tracking their source region and reconstructing the exhumation process of orogenic belts.
