American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates by Neighborhood: Median Income

This dataset provides median income information for Cambridge neighborhoods, based on 2020-2024 American Community Survey estimates.

Because the U.S. Census Bureau does not publish data at the geographic level of Cambridge neighborhoods, 2020 Census block groups were aggregated to approximate neighborhood boundaries. Block group-level household and family income distributions were aggregated to generate neighborhood-level distributions. Median incomes for each neighborhood were then estimated from the neighborhood-level distributions. All amounts are reported in 2024 dollars.

In most cases, block group boundaries align closely with neighborhood boundaries; however, there are notable discrepancies - especially in neighborhoods 10 (West Cambridge), 12 (Cambridge Highlands), and 13 (Strawberry Hill). For these neighborhoods in particular, the geographic boundary differences are significant, so interpret the aggregated data with extra caution.
