Der Text befasst sich mit der Freilandmalerei, dem „Pleinairismus“ am Niederrhein, mit dem Werk von Otto Marx, einem der letzten bedeutenden Vertreter dieses Genres, zugleich Heimat- und Naturkundler und Paläoontologe. Der Autor dieses (H. Petzold) verbrachte als Kind viele Tage mit dem Maler, ein Nennonkel, Jäger und Sammler von Fossilien in der Landschaft: an Altwässern sitzend, ihm beim Malen zuschauend, mit ihm, angeleitet von ihm in die Natur eintauchend, den Hund Quirl kraulend. In diesen Erfahrungen liegen – neben anderem – wichtige Wurzeln für unsere Methode der „Green Meditation“ (Petzold 2015b). LandschaftstherapeutInnen können vom Plain-air vieles Lernen. This text is dealing with plein air painting, „pleinairism“ in the Lower Rhine country-side, the works of Otto Marx. He was one of the latest important representatives of this genre. He was also a local historian, naturalist and paleontologist. The autor of this essay (H. Petzold) has spend with him – an uncle by name – many days with the painter, huntsman and collector of fossils in the landscape, sitting by an oxbow lake or at a meadows brink , watching him paint, sinking with him and guided by him into nature, caressing Quirl, the spaniel. From these experiences (among others) are coming some important influences for our method of „Green Meditation“ (Petzold 2015b).
