Gut and oropharynx bacterial community compositions in Rattus norvegicus and Suncus murinus

Rattus norvegicus and Suncus murinus are important reservoirs of zoonotic bacterial diseases. Understanding gut and oropharynx bacterial community compositions in R. norvegicus and S. murinus is important for the monitoring and prevention of such diseases. At present, however, little is known about the oropharynx and gut bacterial compositions of these animals.We surveyed gut and oropharynx bacterial compositions in R. norvegicus and S. murinus from China using next-generation sequencing based 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing.
