Emerging Occurrence of Ciguatera-Causing Gambierdiscus in the Azores: D8–D10 LSU rDNA sequence alignments of Gambierdiscus carolinianus and related species

This dataset includes the aligned nucleotide sequences of the D8–D10 region of the LSU rDNA gene used in the phylogenetic analyses presented in the article “Emerging Occurrence of Ciguatera-Causing Gambierdiscus in the Azores Archipelago, Portugal (NE Atlantic)”. The alignment includes sequences from two Azorean isolates (IPMA-GBAZ01 and IPMA-GBAZ02) alongside 23 other Gambierdiscus and Fukuyoa reference sequences retrieved from GenBank. Alignments were performed using MUSCLE and manually trimmed in MEGA12. These data support the phylogenetic figures in the publication and are suitable for replication or further comparative studies.
