Impact of culture conditions used in in-vitro bovine production on embryo development and trophoblast gene expression.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of culture conditions and environment on the bovine embryo at two stages of development. Day-8 embryos were produced in vitro. Day-15 embryos were harvested from the recipient mother's uterus after the day 8 blastocysts had been initially transferred to the mother. In this study, we specifically investigated the effect of in vitro culture on trophoblastic gene expression. Overall design: Trophoblastic tissue samples were collected day-8 of in vitro embryo development and at day-15 of pregnancy. Day-8 embryos were produced in vitro. Day-15 conceptus were collected at day 15 of pregnancy after transfer of day-8 in vitro produced embryo.
