The composition of the gut microbiota in high-fat diet-induced obesity and metabolic dysfunction in mice

Obesity and associated metabolic disorders have become global health issues. Numerous studies have demonstrated the crucial role of the gut microbiota in regulating host metabolism. Aloe-emodin (AE), a natural compound widely found in Aloe vera, has the potential to improve gut health and metabolic function. In order to identify the ability of AE to modulate the composition of the gut microbiota, we performed gut microbiota sequencing of the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene.
