Data. Droughts on the move

The dataset includes the entire catalog of Global land drought events (GLDEs), consisting of 1643 GeoTIFF files with GLDE spatial extent for each 10-day period (GLDE_catalog_1980_2024.zip) and classification table with characteristics for all 755 GLDEs (GLDE_classification.csv) with its metadata file (GLDE_classification_metadata.pdf). Moreover, the dataset includes all six figures and one table used in the submitted version of paper “Droughts on the move”, by Trnka et al. to Nature Water, including all data used for creation of the figures and R-code used (if applicable). Fig. 1 is a scheme describing the process of GLDE catalog creation. Fig. 2 visualizes spatial trajectories of all GLDEs. Fig. 3 describes the most severe Eurasian drought (id 664 in GLDE catalog) with several of its characteristics. Fig. 4 displays trajectories and basic information for three most severe GLDEs on each continent.
