Iran Occupational Hazard Severity Index (IOHSI)

The dataset contains official occupational injury statistics for Iran in 2016 and 2017, sourced from the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare (Statistical Yearbook 2017) and made publicly available via Iran Open Data Center.

2016: 18,876 injured workers (18,329 men, 547 women)
2017: 17,619 injured workers (16,330 men, 1,289 women) → overall 6.7% decrease, but female injuries rose 135% (from 2.9% to 7.3% of total).

Provincial data for 2017 show the highest numbers in Tehran (2,295), Isfahan (1,829), and Khuzestan (1,546), and the lowest in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer-Ahmad and North Khorasan (77 each).
These official Social Security Organization records are used in the article “Introducing the Iran Occupational Hazard Severity Index (IOHSI): A Novel National Measure Revealing Job-Level and Provincial Trauma Injury Risk Patterns” to calculate and validate the IOHSI at national and provincial levels.
