资源简介:
The attached data file (230312 Figshare data (anon IDs).xslx) is supporting metadata on the hepatitis B virus (HBV) serology screening of 175 women and infants who were part of the Ucwaningo Lwabantwana ('learning from children') study, established in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in 2015 (1,2). The study was established to identify and work with HIV transmitting mother-child pairs to study the impact of very early combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) initiation in infants. A key for the data is provided in the spreadsheet.Notes on screening protocolsAll mothers in the study were screened for HBsAg, anti-HBs, anti-HBc (total) and anti-HBc (IgM). Mothers were considered to be HBV-positive if HBsAg was detected and samples from these women were further tested for HBeAg and HBV viral load to assess the risk of HBV mother to child transmission. Infants of HBV-positive and IgM-positive mothers were screened for HBsAg at 1 and 12 months of age, with HBV viral load testing for any positive cases. Infants were also tested for anti-HBs at 12 months of age.The data in this study is linked to the MedrXiv publication available via this link: https://doi.org/10.1101/2023.03.20.23287409.The study linked to the data has been published after peer review in Open Forum in Infectious Diseases: https://doi.org/10.1093/ofid/ofad366.References1.
