EDGE STRIP AND METHOD FOR FASTENING AN EDGE STRIP

The invention relates to a method for fastening an edge strip (1) to a narrow face (2) of a planar workpiece， preferably a furniture panel (3)， wherein the edge strip (1) comprises at least one front-face protective layer (4)， and wherein the narrow face (2) and/or the edge strip (1) comprise(s) – arranged on the rear side on the protective layer (4) – at least one adhesive coating layer (5). This method is characterized in that the adhesive coating layer (5) is designed on the basis of a pressure-sensitive adhesive material， that the edge strip (1) is set on the narrow face (2) and bonded to the narrow face (2) under the application of pressure， and in that the pressure-sensitive adhesive is at least partially cross-linked. The invention further relates to an edge strip， particularly for use in the method according to the invention.
