JWST/MIRI observations of ten CHAOS H II regions, five in the spiral galaxy NGC5457 and another five in M33. The MIR spectra of the H II regions are combined with optical spectroscopy to empirically calibrate the Ne23 abundance diagnostic. Included are H II region and dedicated background observations in Bands A and C. Band B was excluded because it contains no lines required to measure Ne23.
