Lipid A-Ara4N as an alternate pathway for resistance in Klebsiella pneumonia isolates in Pakistan

This project builds upon the successful partnership between Health Security Partners (HSP) and Aga Khan University (AKU) to identify and address diagnostic gaps among clinical labs in Pakistan. With the initial phases of the program resulting in both laboratory assessments and capacity building assistance provided to a cohort of laboratories, the program will expand on that work. This phase will provide follow-up training to participating laboratories on a rolling basis, and monitor progress of previous cohorts as they address gaps and improve diagnostics. It will also build capacity for detection of emerging resistance to support national AMR surveillance efforts and detect and control outbreaks. This program may augment and support the NIH-WHO surveillance program in Pakistan and work in coordination with the Pakistan Antimicrobial Resistance Network (PARN).
