comprehensive dataset of all studies identified through the systematic search was extracted and managed using Covidence. This dataset includes all records screened at the title/abstract and full-text stages, encompassing included, excluded, and irrelevant studies.
For all included studies, detailed quantitative data were systematically extracted to support the meta-analysis. This included study characteristics (e.g., author, year, study design, sample size, population), intervention details, comparator conditions, outcome measures, and timepoints. Outcome-level data required for effect size calculations - such as means, standard deviations, and sample sizes for continuous outcomes, or event counts for dichotomous outcomes - were extracted in duplicate where applicable. These data were then used to compute standardized effect sizes (e.g., Hedges’ g) and corresponding variance estimates for inclusion in the meta-analytic models.
All extracted data were organized into structured tables to ensure transparency and reproducibility of the analyses. These tables form the basis of the quantitative synthesis and are available alongside the manuscript (e.g., supplementary materials or repository), enabling verification of data extraction and analytic procedures.
