资源简介:
Cis-1,2-dichloroethylene (cDCE) is a toxic and known carcinogenic pollutant commonly found in groundwater sources. It is a product of the incomplete anaerobic reductive dechlorination of widely used chlorinated solvents (higher chlorinated ethenes: PERC & TCE) by microorganisms. cDCE can accumulate in groundwater and in the water phase of soils in anaerobic systems, and thus further physical or chemical remediation techniques are required. In situ bioremediation under oxic conditions constitutes an efficient and cost-effective alternative for cDCE degradation at contaminated sites. Previous studies have shown the cDCE-degrading potential of certain aerobic microorganisms, and more recently, simple monoaromatics such as toluene and phenol were shown to induce cDCE biodegradation. However, only a limited number of cDCE-degrading microorganisms have been identified and studied to this day. In addition, some of the cDCE-degrading pathways and enzymes involved in these newly-discovered microorganisms are not fully understood. This genome was sequenced as part of a study investigating cDCE cometabolism in Acinetobacter pitii strain CEP14 grown on phenol through genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data analysis.
