Globodera pallida genome based on the Rookmaker population

In order to investigate the genetic diversity in the potato cyst nematode Globodera pallida, we assembled a reference genome for the Rookmaker (E400) population that was isolated in the Netherlands. The Rookmaker population is a Dutch Pa2/3 testing standard and an important population in the research of the Gpa2 resistance gene. In that respect, this genome complements a previously published genome of the Dutch D383 population. However, the main goal for this assembly was the genetic study of recently identified virulent populations of Globodera pallida.
