"To perform image reconstruction of highly reflective metallic surfaces, we constructed a comprehensive multi-illumination image dataset targeting weld seams and base metal substrates. The captured specimens encompass welded joints of various common industrial metals, including aluminum alloys, low-carbon steel, and stainless steel. The acquisition system consists of a stationary camera and six surrounding LED area lights, utilized to sequentially capture multi-directional illumination images. Additionally, we employ a northern hemisphere dome-shaped light source to acquire the ground truth. For each specimen, we acquire a set of 9 images in total: an input sequence of 8 multi-directional illumination images (6 single-light-source and 2 dual-side combined) and 1 dome-illuminated reference image. MMSID comprises 1,800 such distinct spatial sets."
