Lactobacillus plantarum 24-7 improves postoperative bloating and hard stools by modulating intestinal microbiota in patients with congenital heart disease: a randomized controlled trial

The aim of this study was to assess the potential of Lactobacillus plantarum 24-7 in reducing postoperative gastrointestinal symptoms and promoting recovery in patients with congenital heart disease. Patients were randomised to receive Lactobacillus plantarum or placebo intervention twice daily for 10 days. Changes in the gut microbiota of patients in both groups were assessed by 16S rRNA sequencing.
