Sequencing of hematozic blood flukes

To gain a more accurate understanding of blood fluke phylogeny, we sequenced 28 samples and used a phylogenomic approach to test the proposition that evolution of blood fluke lineages is broadly correlated with diversification of vertebrate lineages. Through a better understanding of Schistosomatoidea phylogeny, we hope to facilitate comparative studies that may help identify key mechanisms that facilitate blood fluke success, and ultimately help control rates of infection.
