Evolutionary dynamics of Hibiscus chloroplast genome

We sequenced and de novo assembled the chloroplast genomes of five species in the present study. In addition, we assembled chloroplast genomes for 12 taxa (including 11 Hibiscus species) using publicly available raw sequencing data. Together with these 16 Hibiscus species, we also retrieved chloroplast genome data for 13 additional species from NCBI. Using this combined dataset, we conducted detailed comparative genomic analyses and discussed their phylogenetic implications.
