资源简介:
Under the provisions of sections 11 & 12 of the Boilers Inspection Act 1906 (No. 2071) and subsequent Acts, industrial boilers were required to be registered with the Chief Inspector. A Register of Boilers was maintained for that purpose. Inspection of industrial boilers (under section 14 of the Act) was conducted by inspectors from the Mines Department until 1962 and then by the Department of Labour and Industry. The original Act applied only to steam boilers and digesters (digesters were commonly used in many trades especially in the rendering of fats and oils). The Boilers Inspection (Air and Gas Receivers) Act 1940 (No. 4739) which came into operation in 1947, extended the application of the legislation to embrace air and gas receivers.Owners of Air and Gas Receivers were required to register the equipment with the Chief Inspector, who then arranged for inspectors to inspect them on site. The information recorded includes:- registration number of air or gas receivers- owner- locality- name of inspector- number of certificate of registration, and- date of expiry. The series date range has been imputed from records in custody.
