资源简介:
Darwin's frog (Rhinoderma darwinii) is a species of frog of the family Rhinodermatidae. It was first described by Charles Darwin during his voyage on HMS Beagle on a trip to Chile. In 1841, French zoologist Andre Marie Constant Dumeril and his assistant Gabriel Bibron described and named Darwin's frog. R. darwinii is currently classified as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (from Wikipedia entry). This sample of a pregnant adult male was collected by Lucas Vicuna and Anibal Velasco at Reserva Nacional Villarica in Chile and dissected by Claudio Azat to generate transcriptome data for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Its larvae mRhiDar2 was used to generate a reference genome for the VGP. Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
