Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many museums across the globe had to close to the public. As a result, museums adapted to the circumstances and offered a series of activities and services during the closure. According to a June 2020 study, about 64 percent of surveyed museums in the United States provided digital entertainment during the lockdown. Meanwhile, one in six institutions involved in the research offered video lectures, either live or recorded.
