Multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii has become a threatening nosocomial pathogen worldwide. A. baumannii can acquire resistance to various antibiotics, including carbapenems and aminoglycosides. Recent studies have revealed that multidrug-resistant A. baumannii clinical isolates harboring 16S rRNA methylase genes were emerging in Asian countries. A. baumannii NCGM237 harboring 16S rRNA methylase gene, armA, was obtained in a medical setting in Japan. The isolate was resistant to carbapenems and highly resistant to aminoglycosides. In order to compare the genome sequences of A. baumannii isolates in other countries, the complete genome sequence of the strain were determined.
