Busselton Urban Wetland Community Engagement and Restoration Project

This project will focus on reducing the impact and spread of invasive perennial and woody weeds impacting on the condition of vegetation in, and around, the Busselton Urban Wetlands. A total of 12 hectares of weed control will be undertaken, focussing on Arum lily and woody weeds, such as Laganaria (Laganaria pattersonii), Brazilian Pepper (Schinus terebenthifolius), and Edible Fig (Ficus carica). Two community participation events will be held to engage the community, including a wetland planting day and a tree guard removal day. These will contribute to revegetation of 0.2 hectares of the wetland margins and improving the wetlands for future generations.
