aGFP expression in the phenotypically wild-type +/+ or zag-1(hd16)/+ progeny of zag-1(hd16)/+ hermaphrodites, which we refer to as zag-1(+). bGFP expression in the zag-1(hd16) homozygous progeny of zag-1(hd16)/+ hermaphrodites. cStatistically significant difference between zag-1(hd16) and zag-1(+). (*p<0.02; **p<0.0001). Calculated using the two-tailed, Fisher’s exact test. dChromosomally integrated transgene is expected to be present in 75% of the progeny of transgenic hermaphrodites. ecuEx469 is an extrachromosomal transgene that is unlinked to any of the chromosomes.
