Supplementary Material for: IgA vasculitis associated Terminal Ileitis Mimicking Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Diagnostic Challenge and Therapeutic Role of Steroids

Gastrointestinal system involvement in Henoch-Schoenlein Purpura (HSP) is common and has variable presentations from mild abdominal pain to life-threatening complications. We report here a case of a 19-year-old male patient who presented with palpable purpuric rash and abdominal pain without significant renal involvement. Abdominal CT scan, MR enteroclysis as well as biopsy showed features of terminal ileitis and duodenitis suggestive of inflammatory bowel disease. Skin biopsy with immunofluorescence stain confirmed diagnosis of HSP. The patient showed a dramatic response to systemic glucocorticoids.
