Diamante Lake is a multi-extreme environment located in Catamarca province, Argentina. Developing on the bottom of calcareous rocks we found Red Biofilms (DLRB). The taxonomic composition metabolic potential was determined using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing using primers specific for bacteria and archaea, and by shotgun sequencing, respectively.
