The general scope of the project is studying lignocellulose degrading bacteria to develop enzymatic extracts for utilization of biomass. In order to obtain new enzymatic extracts, bioprospection of (hemi)cellulolytic microorganisms was done from lignocellulose degrading ambient, such as forest soil. Bacterial genome is a source of genes coding for relevant hydrolytic enzymes.
