Share of rabbit-owners on total pet owners in Italy 2007-2019

Cats and dogs are by far the most common pets in Italy. What about rabbits? A survey conducted on pet owners who were also veterinaries' clients revealed that almost two percent of them owned a rabbit in 2019. This figure increased since 2017, when it was 1.4 percent, but overall this share significantly decreased when compared to eight years before. In 2011, in fact, a peak of three percent of rabbit owners among pet owners was reached.
