Eventour: A GeoSPARQL Knowledge Graph for Cultural and Service-Aware Urban Exploration in Milan

Eventour Milan is a reusable RDF/GeoSPARQL urban knowledge graph for cultural and service-aware urban exploration. The resource integrates 21 official Comune di Milano open datasets with a curated Wikidata-derived semantic place layer, enabling administrative areas, mobility infrastructure, public services, urban assets, and culturally meaningful places to be queried together with geometry, provenance, and source identity. The Milan KG contains 9,374,065 RDF triples, 906,923 distinct subjects, 293,165 spatial features, and 3,288 curated Wikidata-derived semantic places. These places are linked back to Wikidata, assigned to Milan NIL areas, and classified into application-facing roles: primary POIs, secondary POIs, and context entities. The Eventour ontology defines 37 classes and 123 properties and reuses established vocabularies including GeoSPARQL, PROV-O, DC Terms, DCAT, SKOS, Schema.org, and OWL. Eventour supports applications such as cultural itinerary generation, event-aware recommendation when connected to authorized event data, context-aware urban exploration, and urban service-gap analysis. The release is designed to support reproducibility, inspection of construction decisions, and reuse in future city-level semantic resources.
