Invasive mosquitoes north italy

Aedes japonicus and Aedes koreicus are two invasive mosquitoes native to East Asia that are quickly establishing in temperate regions of Europe. Both species are vectors of arboviruses, and we currently lack a clear understanding of their evolution. We sequence one individual for each species to perform phylogenomic and metagenomic analyses. The genomic data collected from these two species will clarify the complex pattern of evolution within the Aedini tribe.
