Ant venom gland transcriptome analysis

Ants feed on a variety of insects. But some of the specialized ant species (predatory and stenophagous ant species) feed and pray on the specific insects. In this project, we focus on the neurotoxic peptides of predatory and stenophagous ant species. To understand the adaptive evolution of these ant species, we will comprehensively identify and characterize the neurotoxic peptides from the species.
